Cosmetology Program

A Cosmetologist is one who studies the art of cosmetics, hair, nail technology, esthetics, and facials. A career in cosmetology is a sought after career choice for both men and women alike. Our Cosmetology students become proficient in hair-cutting, hair-coloring, foiling, highlighting, perming, artificial nails, manicuring, pedicuring, and skin care.

 

Cosmetology is the study and art of cosmetics, hair, nail technology, esthetics, and facials. Cosmetology includes, but is not limited to, manicures, pedicures, application of artificial nails, special occasion hairstyling, shampooing hair, cosmetic application, body hair removal, chemical hair relaxers or straighteners, permanent waves, coloring and highlighting of hair, and hair extensions or wig treatments.

Clinical Floor Hours

Monday: 9:00 – 3:00
Tuesday: 9:00 – 5:00
Wednesday: 10:00 – 7:00
Thursday: 9:00 – 5:00

Our 1550-hour program will provide you with Classroom Theory and Practical Clinics that meet all the state requirements for licensure in Wisconsin and Illinois.

Classroom (Theory)

Classroom (theory) consists of lecture, individual study time, and student participation and practice time. Each day will include lunch and sanitation duties. Theory runs for the first 9 weeks of the program Monday – Friday. After the first 9 weeks theory class is on Monday mornings.

Practical (Clinic)

Practical (clinic) days will consist of working on clients under the supervision of a licensed instructor in the areas you have been trained in. These days will include lunch and sanitation duties. Clinical hours start after the first 9 weeks of theory.
