Our History

First Class Cosmetology School is family-owned and operated.  We are not your typical cookie cutter school. We take pride in offering a well-rounded education, taking your skills and exposure of industry further than the basics.  A cosmetology license permits you to work in all areas of hair, skin and nails.  Why would we only teach hair? WE DON"T!! We want to ensure that you learn whatever your interests may be within your scope of practice.  Cosmetology students have opportunities to learn facials and skincare, lash extensions, sugaring hair removal, and artificial nail enhancements, without taking additional programs.

First Class Cosmetology school originally began as a nail salon called First Class Nails in 1990. In 1992, we began accepting nail students.  YES, we have been operational as a school for over 30 years!! Originally, the nail program was designed only with the intent to train staff for our salon in the area of nails.  However, it took only a short time to see that there was demand that went beyond the need of our own nail business.

Within a few years, we added two additional programs, Cosmetology and Esthetics.

In March of 2011, we began accepting Federal Financial Aid giving more students the opportunity to attend our school. Our enrollment quickly increased, requiring more space.  We relocated to a larger facility, offering more classroom space and a large student salon.  Since 2011, we have continued growing, adding more and more to our programs and facility. Our Esthetics program has been recognized and awarded as a top program in the State of WI.  We are always adding on trend products, devices, tools and knowledge.   We take pride in our students and the education they receive!  When you attend First Class Cosmetology School you really become part of the First-Class family.

We are excited to announce the addition of 3 additional programs!!

Sept 2022 we will begin offering Barbering programs.  We will have a 1000-hour course to meet WI licensure requirements and a 1500-hour course to meet IL licensure requirements.

Jan 2023 we will begin enrolling students in the field of Massage Therapy.

We strongly suggest if you are considering a career in Cosmetology, Barbering, Esthetics, Nails, or Massage Therapy that you visit multiple schools.  The education you receive is the foundation to your career and is so very important.  Come and visit us at First Class and learn about what our school has to offer! You won't be disappointed!
